Maldita Vecindad, also sometimes referred to as La Maldita Vecindad y los Hijos del Quinto Patio (which translates to The Damned Neighborhood and the Sons of the Fifth Patio), is a Mexican rock band formed in Mexico City in 1985. They are considered pioneers of "rock en español" (rock in Spanish) and play a unique blend of alternative/indie rock, ska, and traditional Mexican music.
