Join us for an engaging book chat event focused on the "Migrantes Valientes" project. This project was founded by photojournalist Pablo Allison. Pablo is famously known for his culmination of work over 6 years, documenting migrants travelling from Central America, through Mexico and into the USA on The Beast (the freight train commonly known for carring goods between Mexico, the USA and Canada).
It was through his travels with migrants on The Beast that he conceived the "Migrantes Valientes" project - an ongoing publication with the focus of uplifting stories of migrant journeys and migrant lived experiences. The newest issue of Migrantes Valientes: Stories from the South and North take on the migratory historic relationship between Mexico and the US. It was co-produced with Alfonso Vazquez co-founder of the Chicanxs Sin Fronteras collaborative from Mexico City.

Chicanxs Sin Fronteras is focused on highlighting transdisciplinary and translingual projects that uplift Chicanx culture in all its distinct manifestations across literature, activism and the arts through dialogue and collective thinking. Both Pablo Allison & Alfonso Vazquez will join our book chat from Mexico City via Zoom. We will also have two speakers in person who’s stories are featured in the Migrantes Valientes: Monica Delgadillo Hernandez – an interdisciplinary creative from San Ysidro and SHENTE – an artist from Tijuana.
