Celtic Woman is an Irish musical group formed entirely of women. Debuting in Dublin in 2004 for a single event, their PBS broadcasts in the US propelled them to international fame. Their music is a unique blend of traditional Celtic melodies, contemporary pop, and even classical influences, earning them the nickname "Riverdance for the voice." The group's lineup has shifted over the years, always featuring gifted vocalists and a fiddler. While the original group consisted of Chloë Agnew, Órla Fallon, Lisa Kelly, Méav Ní Mhaolchatha, and Máiréad Nesbitt, the current performers as of July 2023 are Mairéad Carlin, Tara McNeill, Muirgen O'Mahony, and Emma Warren. Celtic Woman has achieved immense success, selling over nine million records worldwide and holding the record for most Billboard World Album Artist of the Year wins at six. Their captivating live shows, featuring intricate choreography and a full band alongside the vocalists, are a major draw. By showcasing the talents of exceptional Irish female performers and celebrating Ireland's rich musical heritage, Celtic Woman continues to be a beloved musical force.
