Ramy Youssef is an American actor, comedian, writer, and director of Egyptian descent. He is best known for his role as Ramy Hassan on the Hulu comedy-drama series Ramy (2019–present), for which he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy and a Peabody Award in 2020. In 2019, Youssef created and starred in the Hulu comedy-drama series Ramy. The series is a semi-autobiographical look at the life of a young Muslim-American man as he tries to find his place in the world. Ramy has been praised for its honest portrayal of Muslim life in America, and it has won numerous awards, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
