Enjoy an interview with international award-winning novelist Nnedi Okorafor and Dr. Dean Nelson at PLNU. Nnedi Okorafor is an international award-winning novelist of African-based science fiction, fantasy and magical realism for both children and adults. Born in the United States to two Nigerian immigrant parents, Okorafor is known for weaving African culture into creative evocative settings and memorable characters. In a profile of Nnedi?s work titled, ?Weapons of Mass Creation," The New York Times called Okorafor?s imagination ?stunning." Her works include "Who Fears Death" (currently being developed by HBO into a TV series), the "Binti" novella trilogy, the "Book of Phoenix," the "Akata" books and "Lagoon." She is the winner of Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy and Locus Awards and her debut novel Zahrah the Windseeker won the prestigious Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature. Okorafor has also written comics for Marvel, including "Black Panther: Long Live the King" and "Wakanda Forever," which features the Dora Milaje and the unlimited series Shuri. Her first graphic novel LaGuardia will be released in 2019 as a comic book series.
