Calendar
09/09/2016 - Walk/Run For Child Rights At 4S Ranch
Come join the 8th Annual CRY Walk 2016 in San Diego and help create opportunities for children so that they can fulfill their dreams.

Millions of children are deprived of what we believe are their basic rights - to survival, to development, to protection, and to participation. This event will bring hundreds of individuals together with the belief that 'change is possible, because we will make it possible'. The event provides a platform for people of all ages to come together and join the child rights movement.

We will have fun events in addition to the walk/run - food, games, yoga, face painting, balloon animals, and so much more!

India still suffers as being the country with the largest number of children in the workforce. Child marriages, female feticide, non-existent health and security for women and children, continues to plague the country as much as before. The CRY Walk for Child Rights is a platform for individuals to partner in the child rights movement that enables lasting change in the lives of children. By simply walking / running in this event each individual in his or her own way will be restoring to children their basic rights to - learn, live, play, express and be protected. Walk with us in beautiful 4S Ranch Community Park, and help make this event a success - and an enduring San Diego tradition!

05/04/2016 - Pac Arts Spring Showcase: Honor Thy Father
Edgar is a family man, living well off with his wife and daughter. But when a secret regarding their finances is exposed, their comfort is put in jeopardy by the very friends they have come to trust. Edgar's life starts to collapse around him as he struggles to secure the safety of his family and seek vengeance against his betrayers.

HONOR THY FATHER challenges the security we take for granted: spousal, communal, and religious. Instead, violence, guns, and dirt pave the road to retribution, augmented by cinematographer Ber Cruz' depiction of the Filipino provinces. Directed by Erik Matti (On the Job, SDAFF '13) with uncompromising grit and drama that surrounds every corner with claustrophobic tension, HONOR THY FATHER wraps its darkness in restless love. Edgar is pursuant of his family's future in a way that only breeds desperation, proving that not all redemptions are clean. -Justin Ricafort

01/28/2016 - Kendama Club Meeting
Kendama is a traditional Japanese toy. The ken has three cups and a spike which fits into the hole in the ball.Kendama bears similarities to the classic cup-and-ball game, and the Hispanic world toy known as boliche or balero. The principle of these toys are the same: catching one object with another, where both are joined by a string. However the modern kendama style takes influences from a diverse range of skills including yo-yo, diabolo, juggling and dance.

Test your skills against others, learn new tricks and just have fun together with Kendama Club.
