Cambodian Culture Show
Cambodian Culture ShowThe Cambodian Student Association at UC San Diego would cordially like to invite you to our 14th Annual Culture Show: When One Door Closes, Another One Opens | ឱកាសមួយកន្លងផុតទៅ, ឱកាសមួយទៀតនៅរង់ចាំ

Welcome to Uncle Joe’s Donuts! Meet the owner, Ming, who fled to the United States from the Khmer Rouge (Cambodian Civil War) as a teenager. She has big dreams to someday own a restaurant, but what happens when she meets some troubled neighborhood youths? Jake is trying to support his family after his older brother cuts town and leaves him to deal with his old gang. Hope just wants to live her dreams as a dancer, but her parents aren’t so supportive. Carrie appears to be strong and confident, but she’s still finding herself in some aspects. These four may be broken and lost as individuals, but together they learn about getting second chances and what it means to be a community. Join us as we explore their contemporary backgrounds of being Cambodian Americans!

Along with the play, we will also have fun dance pieces performed by our own CSA members and a guest performance by Khmer Dance Troupe!
