Performance: Paper Cities
Paper Cities is a 60 minute multi-disciplinary performance narrated through puppetry, animated and original film, soundscapes, music and manipulated objects. It questions the logic by which humans have interpreted the idea of the city. It engages the previous century's history of urban development, transmogrifying commerce and politics into poetry, prosthetics and paper. It explores colonialism and how this has led to the exploitation of natural resources. Questioning the very act of puppetry as a performative medium, Paper Cities explores what stories are being told and asks who is manipulating whom.
Performed with puppets, animated objects, original film, and live soundscapes by Kristopher Apple. Directed by Liam Clancy.
Compulsively watchable and endlessly inventive." Gabe Greene- Director of New Play Development, La Jolla Playhouse
Admission/Cost: $12 - $100
