These creators have been published by major publishers such as Marvel and DC Comics, Image Comics and a host of Independent publishers such as San Diego's KID Comics.

2:00 PM Children's Discovery Museum Roots Series The San Diego Children
2:00 PM Stage: The Fire in Me Asian Story Theater and Access Inc. present "The Fire in Me," a play about domestic violence in San Diego's Filipino community.

Based on interviews, the play explores the subject in the context of culture, immigration status and gender roles. Each performance includes merienda (Filipino snacks), the play, and a panel discussion with experts working in the field.

This project is supported by The San Diego Foundation and California Humanities, in community partnership with Philippine Consulate
San Diego County, and artistic collaboration with MaArte Theater Collective.

2:00 PM Shen Yun Chinese Music and Dance Shen Yun returns with an all-new program for Chinese New Year with a 5000-year journey through ancient dynasties and faraway lands including 100 dancers and singers, 1000 hand-made costumes, 20 sets and animated backdrops accompanied by a concert orchestra blending Western and Chinese instruments. Expatriate Chinese Falun Gong practitioners living in North America founded Shen Yun in 2006 in New York. The show features contemporary scenes of a political nature.

6:00 PM Vietnamese New Year Celebration Bayside Community Center's 5th Annual Vietnamese New Year Celebration. All proceeds will go toward empowering the diverse community of Linda Vista. Enjoy the vibrant colors, sounds, tastes, and friendly atmosphere. Festivities will include dinner, a live auction, raffle, and performances.

This year's celebrations will include performances from several famous Vietnamese singers and actors. Additionally, San Diego's own award-winning group, Ballet Folklorico El Tapatio, will be presenting a one-of-a-kind fusion dance performance drawing inspiration from both traditional Mexican folk dance and Vietnamese cultures. The evening will also include a traditional lion dance performance from Van Kiep Lion Dance.

7:00 PM San Diego Jewish Film Festival The mission of the San Diego International Jewish Film Festival is to offer outstanding world cinema that promotes awareness, appreciation, and pride in the diversity of the Jewish. Festival programs aim to educate and illuminate through evocative, independent fiction and documentary films that portray the Jewish experience from current and historical global perspectives.

Now in its 29th year, the San Diego International Jewish Film Festival has become one of the largest and most highly acclaimed Jewish Film Festivals in the country. Today, with more than 17,000 ticket holders, SDJFF is the most widely attended annual Jewish cultural event in San Diego. The 11-day Festival features over 80 screenings of international films at five theatre venues: Reading Cinemas Town Square, Edwards San Marcos 18, Museum of Photographic Arts , Project Bar & Grill and the Garfield Theatre at the JCC.
