4:00 PM Pilipinx Culture Night Pagkakaisa at Southwestern College presents its annual Gising Na Pilipinx Culture Night, centered around the theme "Ano ang Kuwento Mo?" ("What's Your Story" in Tagalog). Now more than ever, our voices as one people need to be heard. It is important for us young Pilipinx-Americans to remember where we came from, how we got here, and where we will go from here. Sharing our testimonies is a platform to which people are brought together. It creates eye-opening realizations about not only ourselves but everyone around us as well. In American history, we have been taught through other people's stories, and often times we leave out the idea that we are part of history too. This is why we believe that sharing our story is an act of rebellion, it is our way of leaving our mark through expanding perspectives one kuwento at a time.
