Get ready to welcome spring at Kolodii, a lively Ukrainian celebration of new beginnings!
Join us on Saturday, March 8th at 3:00 PM at La Jolla Shores Beach (we'll keep you updated on any location changes). This vibrant gathering is a chance to experience Ukrainian culture firsthand, with traditions, music, and of course, delicious food!
Kolodii is a time to embrace the fresh cycle of life, and we'll be marking the occasion with a bonfire featuring the burning of the Kolodka totem. Expect an afternoon filled with fun, games, and the joyful spirit of Ukrainian folk and modern music.
This is a free potluck event, and your generous donations are always welcome to help make it a success. However the format may change to a catered meal, so please keep an eye out for updates!

What to bring:
▫️A dish or drinks to share (the more the merrier, but not a mandatory)
▫️Blankets or beach chairs for comfy seating
▫️Firewood to keep the bonfire going
▫️Lights to brighten up the evening
▫️Ukrainian flags to show your spirit

A special note about the food: Kolodii is all about celebrating with cottage cheese! So, let's skip the crepes (that's more of a moscowian/soviet Maslyana thing) and focus on delicious dishes featuring this key ingredient. Think varenyky, syrnyky, cheesecake, zapikanka, baked apples with cheese, or even some tasty cheese cookies. Get creative!

We can't wait to celebrate Kolodii with you!
