It’s Christmas Eve in the Stahlbaum home, where family and friends of Clara and Fritz have gathered to celebrate the Holidays. Once Clara’s enigmatic godfather Drosselmeyer arrives however, magic befalls the evening as his toys come to life, including the cherished Nutcracker doll gifted to Clara. Once Clara drifts off to sleep, her Christmas tree grows to dizzying heights, and her beloved Nutcracker battles rogue rats. Victorious, the Nutcracker now a prince, they are both swept in to the Land of the Sweets where visions of sugarplums dance in their heads.
