Art meets activism at Lens of Liberation—a youth-led initiative with the support of teaching artists Ale Uzarraga, Lorain Khalil Rihan, Magdalena Ramirez, and Outside the Lens. Join us at the Soap Factory on Sunday September 22, 2024 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. This event showcases thought-provoking artworks created by young Mexican American and Chicanx youth exploring the social, historical, and cultural forces that have shaped their communities through art. Join us in celebrating the voices of young artists who share their unique perspectives, concerns, and hopes for the future. This is more than an exhibition—it’s an interactive opportunity to expand understanding, foster empathy, and inspire collective action through hands-on activities and community dialogue.
El arte se encuentra con el activismo en Lens of Liberation (Lente de Liberación), una iniciativa liderada por jóvenes con el apoyo de las artistas docentes Ale Uzarraga, Lorain Khalil Rihan, Magdalena Ramirez y de Outside the Lens. Acompáñanos en Soap Factory el domingo 22 de septiembre de 2024 de 1 p.m. a 4 p.m. En este evento se exhibirán obras de arte provocativas creadas por jóvenes Mexicoamericanos y Chicanxs que exploran las fuerzas sociales, históricas y culturales que han dado forma a sus comunidades a través del arte. Celebremos las voces de artistas jóvenes que comparten sus perspectivas, preocupaciones y esperanzas únicas para el futuro.
