Bernard Ellorin, PhD, will explore the music of Southeast Asia, a region known for the conservation of indigenous, colonial, and post colonial heritages. From gong ensembles to improvisatory singing, this presentation focuses on music from diverse communities of practice. Divided between land and sea, Southeast Asian music reflects the landscape and belief systems of the people.
