Gudi Padwa is a spring festival celebrating the start of the Hindu lunisolar new year, particularly for people of Marathi and Konkani heritage. Centered around Maharashtra, Goa, and Damaon, it falls on the first day of Chaitra, the opening month of the lunisolar calendar. San Diego Maharashtra Mandal is a social organization formed by people with connections to the Indian state of Maharashtra.
