The feature-length documentary The Last Tlatoan , directed by internationally renowned filmmaker Pablo Jato, has won multiple awards at various festivals, such as the Quetzalcóatl International Indigenous Film Festival, where it was awarded best feature film; the Port Blair International, where it was recognized as best documentary, as well as at the Liberty Awards, where it won best documentary in Spanish. The documentary is about the discovery of the supposedly known remains of a tlatoani , a trigger for every February, for more than 40 years, thousands of dancers from different places in the country and abroad to come to Ixcateopan de Cuauhtémoc to pay tribute to the last emperor of Tenochtitlan with emotional ceremonies. Film will be screened in Spanish.
