UCSD Professor Emeritus Pasquale Verdicchio will read poems from his new collection, Only You, as well as a selection of 20th and 21st century Italian poems translated by Verdicchio, including works by renowned poets Alda Merini, Giorgio Caproni, Pier Paolo Pasolini, and Vivian Lamarque (winner of Viareggio and Strega awards 2023).
The poems will be read in both Italian and English.
Books will be on sale at the event (cash or venmo).
Cantucci cookies and beverages will be served.
