South Indian classical vocalist Devesh Vashishtha has performed concerts in the U.S., Canada, and India. He and his accompanist Naveen Baveenhally (on mridangam) will present an interactive lecture-demonstration on the history of South Indian classical (Carnatic) music and provide an overview of its intricate melodic and rhythmic patterns and multiple improvisational forms.
