Le Poème Harmonique, led by Vincent Dumestre with mezzo-soprano Eva Zaïcik, will open the San Diego Early Music Society's 2023-2024 season with a program of music that would have been heard in the court of young Louis XIV before Versailles. The ensemble will perform traditional French chansons, as well as music by Moulinié, de Lalande, and Charpentier, and excerpts from the first operas by Lully and Cavalli performed in France.
