María Reyna González López, known as "La Soprano Mixe," is a Mexican soprano singer born on December 12, 1990, in Metate, Santa María Tlahuitoltepec. She's famed for blending operatic techniques with indigenous Mexican languages, creating a unique musical style that also serves to promote and preserve Mexico's linguistic and cultural heritage. María Reyna's journey into music began at a young age in her hometown, and at 15, she moved to Guadalajara to pursue her passion for singing. Over time, despite initial challenges, she made a name for herself in the musical realm, eventually releasing her debut album "Orgullosa Soy Raíz," which showcases a fusion of classical, jazz, and contemporary music. Through her career, María Reyna has also been involved in projects like "Opera Mixe" with musical director Joaquín Garzón, further exploring indigenous musical expressions. Despite her growing fame, she remains deeply connected to her roots, often reflecting her indigenous heritage in her music and aspirations.
