Unsung Heroes is a short story highlighting black veterans tremendous contributions to the United States Armed Forces. Their stories and experiences often go unrecognized and undocumented.
Richard Woods is an African American veteran, who experienced racism and segregation growing up in a small town in Texas. Only to be drafted into the Armed Forces to experience the same thing, on a much deeper level. Despite those challenges, Richard vowed to serve his country as a Marine and fight in the Vietnam war.
