Gideon Rappaport, San Diego’s premier Shakespearean dramaturg, will discuss his book Appreciating Shakespeare, which provides essential tools for understanding and enjoying Shakespeare's plays and poems. His book also includes short essays on twenty-two plays, pointing readers to the universally meaningful heart of each and to the illuminating themes often hidden or misrepresented in many stage and screen productions and in critical writings.
