Experience a plethora of stories and storytelling styles at the 13th annual Storytelling Festival, a collaboration between Storytellers of San Diego and the Coronado Public Library.

There is something for everyone—the youth jazz group, Young Lions, will play, veterans tell their stories with So Say We All, students from Silver Strand Elementary, Coronado, will share their stories. Unique story sessions are bookended with the annual concert of Voices at the Water’s Edge opening and closing this eclectic day celebrating stories in conjunction with World Storytelling Day. Art and Stories features Marsha Orr, who will be weaving a basket on stage while storytellers are weaving their stories simultaneously. We dedicate two story sessions to the World Storytelling Day theme of “Together We Can."

Families will want to attend two sessions designed for children, “Together Kids Can,” and "Participation Stories.” Two special guests from near and afar will grace our stage—Brandon Spars, from Santa Rosa, Ca., author and five-time Moth story winner, and

Marianne Christiansen, author and a storyteller/therapist from Copenhagen, Denmark. The “Real People—Real Stories” session features a panel from the San Diego So. Asian community, and spotlighting an East Indian dancer and storyteller.
