Dr. Bloom's talk will explore a numer of the more than thirty works of calligraphy commissioned by the Huntington to contemporary artists that serve as models for the inscriptions that adorn rocks, buildings, and entryways of the Huntington's Chinese Garden. His talk will suggest four foundational perspectives for contemplating calligraphy in a garden.
