The La Jolla Renaissance Singers present ""An English Christmas,"" a program steeped in the English choral tradition with the music of William Byrd, Peter Philips, Ralph Vaughan Williams, John Rutter, and the prolific early composer Anonymous.
Much of our experience with English Christmas music comes from the Victorian era, a tradition started in churches, towns, and in the countryside. LJRS presents the music of chapels and churches, villages and vagabonds including the ""Girt Dog of Langport"" and a Gloucestershire Wassail.
