Talk: Panel on Latin America and Talk by Former President of Costa Rica Laura Chinchilla Please join UC San Diego's Center for Iberian and Latin American Studies, Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies, Department of Political Science, International Institute and Latin American Studies Program for this important half-day event.

Across Latin America, countries are faced with limited economic growth and growing political polarization and instability. During the keynote address by former Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla Miranda and the expert panel, we will discuss pathways to improving citizen security and human rights across the continent to provide a basis for a new wave of prosperity. The talk will be followed by a tango music performance by San Diego’s Camarada with special guest Raul Jaurena, tango master and accomplished bandoneonist.
