4:00 PM United States Engagments In the Americas The Americas continue to be at a threshold of driving forward sustainable economic growth and prosperity against a backdrop of rapidly evolving approaches to trade and investment through trade liberalization and the emergence of new global, often 'non-traditional' investment partners.

7:30 PM French Play: A Report On The Banality Of Love Alliance Française de San Diego is happy to invite you to "A Report on the Banality of Love", a play by Simon Diament. Interpreted by André Nerman and Maïa Guéritte.

The Parisian troupe Caravague will present the performance at the University of San Diego in the in Salomon Hall (Maher Hall). This play was performed in front of sell-out crowds during the entire Festival d'Avignon.

Germany, 1925, Martin Heidegger is a professor of philosophy at Marburg University. His student, Hannah Arendt is fascinated by his brilliance. In this defeated country, Nazi idealism is gaining ground. Hannah, a Jew, is scared and repulsed by Hitler's ascent. Martin believes this political movement can bring about Germany's revival and compromises himself with the Nazis, for a while. Despite this divergence between them, the lovers continue to see each other. From 1925 to 1950, we witness five encounters of these two gifted thinkers of the twentieth century, revealing their passionate and tumultuous relationship.
