8:00 AM Pacific Islander Festival 2017 PIFA is hosting its 23rd annual Pacific Islander Festival at Mission Bay ~ Ski Beach. PIFA has over 100 booths, from craft/cultural villages, retail, information and everyone's favorite, "Food!" So come on out and bring your families and friends and join in on the fun the "Island Way!" We look forward to seeing you all there.

The primary purposes and objectives of the Pacific Islander Festival Association shall be:

(a) To promote charitable and educational projects for the benefit of everyone, but with emphasis on the Indigenous People of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia.

(b) To provide educational and cultural resources to everyone, but with emphasis on the Indigenous People of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia.

12:30 PM Dance: International Harvest Festival International Harvest Dance Festival is a 2-day dance event (Sept 23-24, 2017) that is hosted by the five international folk dance clubs belonging to the International Dance Association of San Diego County (IDASDC). The festival will be held at the Balboa Park club (located behind the international cottages in Balboa Park) from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both days.

The event is FREE and features free dance lessons, dance performances, folk arts and craft vendors plus food and beverages will be offered at reasonable prices in the outer lobby. A partner is not needed to participate in the dance lessons. This is a family friendly event.

The entertainment is provided by the Areito Borincano Folkloric Dance Group of San Diego and musician/composer member Manny Cepeda. In 2010 Martha Nabwire and Niki Tsappos took part in the biggest international Street Dance Competition, Juste Debout in Paris. It was the first time ever two women became World Champions in Hip Hop.
