3:00 PM 15th San Diego International Kids' Film Festival Aiming to promote a positive educational impact on children and youth, the SDIKFF actively supports innovative films made by filmmakers from around the globe. The festival offers an excellent multi-cultural platform to engage aspiring filmmakers, students and educators alike by screening quality films and television series (both short and feature-length), as well as works in the areas of documentary, animation, educational visual arts and mixed media.

In addition to the film screenings, the 2018 SDIKFF will host the "Maeya Angel" Pageant, an opening night gala with culture forums, industrial panel discussions, a family film market and an awards ceremony. These will provide plenty of occasions to meet and become acquainted with many of the other filmmakers who are involved in the festival and in the children's filmmaking industry.

You will have the chance to freely share your views and ideas with those who share the same ideals of entertainment and stimulation of all ages through cinematic stories.

6:00 PM Film: Black Panther The USS Midway Museum is your destination for summer fun! Come join us for family fun activities, concessions and a movie under the stars on the flight deck!

Enjoy the 2018 hit, Black Panther aboard the USS Midway Museum. Come early for music, food and fun. Explore resources and information from our festival partners, grab a bite at the concessions, and pose for the camera at the red carpet. Marvel Studios' Black Panther follows T'Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T'Challa's mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life. Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Kevin Feige. Rated PG-13. Boarding will begin at approximately 6:00 PM

Guests are encouraged to bring outdoor folding chairs and blankets, since seating will not be provided. Please note, this event will take place on an open-air flight deck, so jackets and sweaters are recommended.

This event is free, but advanced tickets will be required. Tickets for this event will become available on July 17 at 10:00 AM, online only.

8:00 PM Stage: In the Heights Patio Playhouse's "Plays in the Park" stages Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony Award-winning musical about a community on the brink of change, "where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which to leave behind." Matt Fitzgerald directs.

In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York's Washington Heights neighborhood—a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It's a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind. In the Heights is the winner of the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations.
