5:30 PM Oceanside International Film Festival The Oceanside International Film Festival showcases features, documentaries, shorts, animation and student works along with workshops and after-parties.

Held every August, Oceanside International Film Festival officially kicks off a season of various annual film festivals conducted around San Diego county, which usually continue through the Fall. Established in 2009, OIFF is an opportunity for independent filmmakers to have their work screened and judged. It also gives film buffs a jump-start chance for viewing local and international films at a place in Southern California known for its rich history, beautiful beaches and artistic freedom. Film industry guests and audience members alike will appreciate the ocean-infused atmosphere surrounding the city, where the festival is held.

Located in the Northern-most part of San Diego county, and within a short drive from Los Angeles and Orange counties, Oceanside offers miles of sandy beaches ideal for sun-worshiping and surfing. Between screenings, movie aficionados will be able to visit the famous bungalow house featured in Top Gun (starring Tom Cruise), the California Surf Museum, the longest wooden pier on the western United States coastline, and downtown Oceanside all within walking distance from OIFF. Oceanside is also home to a harbor bustling with restaurants and entertainment, and to the historic Mission San Luis Rey, the largest building in California when completed in 1700's—and the most prosperous of the state's 21 missions, thus earning the name "King of the Missions."

6:30 PM Music: SantanaWays For 37 years, Twilight's live music under the stars has been delighting visitors. The music program ranges from military bands and Dixieland jazz, to big band swing and Latin salsa.

Concerts run all the way through to August 30, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 PM with special theme-events starting at 5:30 PM on the stage of the majestic Spreckles Organ Pavilion.

This is a fabulous, free, family-oriented venue for folks to come and listen to some great music. Bring a picnic, sit back and relax, or kick up your heels to some wonderful tunes.

Thursday, August 2 features the Santana tribute band, SantanaWays.

7:30 PM Stage: On Your Feet! From their humble beginnings in Cuba, Emilio and Gloria Estefan came to America and broke through all barriers to become a crossover sensation at the very top of the pop music world. But just when they thought they had it all, they almost lost everything. From international superstardom to life-threatening tragedy, On Your Feet! takes you behind the music and inside the real story of this record-making and groundbreaking couple who, in the face of adversity, found a way to end up on their feet. The show is directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell of Kinky Boots, and choreographed by Olivier Award-winner Sergio Trujillo of Jersey Boys.

8:00 PM Film: The Lunchbox In celebration of The San Diego Museum of Art's summer exhibition Epic Tales from Ancient India, this year's Screen on the Green lineup is a selection of critically acclaimed films that present compelling, multifaceted stories featuring Indian artists, filmmakers and actors.

About The Lunchbox:
A neglected housewife and a lonely widower develop an unlikely pen-pal correspondence after a mix-up in Mumbai's famed (and previously infallible) lunch delivery system. The film is Rated PG, is 105 minutes, and will be in Hindi with English subtitles.

Films start at sundown (approximately 8:00 PM) on the Botanical Garden Lawn.

8:00 PM Music: Los Tigres Del Norte The band was originally started as a family band, with Jorge Hernandez, his brothers and his cousins. They began recording music together when they moved to San Jose, California in the United States in the late 1960s with the help of a local record company, Discos Fama owned by Art Walker. They became a popular local band, and when they got permission to record a song they heard in Los Angeles, they found major success on both sides of the border. The release of "Contrabando y Traición" completely kicked off the band's international success as a Spanish language music group.

As a Norteño ensemble, the band has been able to realistically portray life in a manner that many people can relate to, whatever their language. Their songs touch upon topics like love, and struggle to survive, as well as incorporating topics like narcotics and immigration. Since their start, they have earned five Latin Grammy Awards and sold over 30 million record copies. They have toured all around the world and have even earned a reputation for playing encores that could last over an hour after the scheduled end of the show. In addition, they have recorded and released over a dozen records, not including Greatest Hits albums, and have been honored with a BMI Icon award by the BMI Latin Awards.
