All Day San Diego International Kids' Film Festival This year, the SDIKFF will screen over 150+ films from 30+ countries. American filmmakers as well as film delegations from China, Korea,Taiwan,Canada, Mexico, Russia, Japan, India, France, UK, Germany and many more, will appear at the event.

With goals to promote positive educational impact on children and the youth, the San Diego International Kid's Film Festival actively supports innovative films made by filmmakers from around the globe. In addition to the film screenings, as the regular program, the 2017SDIKFF will host Opening Night Gala, Culture Forums, Industrial Panel Discussions,Screenplay showcase and Red Carpet AwardCeremony. This year, the SDIKFF will add Family Film Market, cultural fashion competition and live broadcasting the award ceremony in to the three day festival. These events will help to facilitate interactions between filmmakers and the local students. Students and audiences will critique the films after each screening, and volunteer interpreters will assist with non-English speaking filmmakers at all events. The Cultural Forum events will focus on topics such as film production in different countries and cultural contexts. The film juries consist of an outstanding committee of industry personnel. There will also be film distributors present at the festival to secure other desired material.

Admission/Cost: $5 - $10 per film, day, festival and special event passes available.

10:00 AM Sand Sculpture Art Festival Sand Sculpture Art Fest - 100% family oriented, where several artistic, cultural, musical, and sports activities take place, the main atraction being the exhibition of sand sculptures under this year's theme "Women in Art" honoring the participation of women through the years. This event was held for the first time in 2009 to commemorate World Tourism Day and soon became one of the most important and Largest Sand Art Festival in Latin America and a traditional event for regional families with eight succesful editions.

11:00 AM House of Palestine Lawn Program In September of 2003, the House of Palestine was officially accepted as one of the international cottages under the umbrella organization of the House of Pacific Relations.

Their mission is to promote the culture and heritage and friendship of the people of Palestine, by hosting various social activities. These activities will showcase folkloric dances in the traditional Palestinian costumes, as well as reading poetry, enjoying music, arts and crafts and the authentic food of Palestine.

12:00 PM Carlsbad Music Festival Celebrate "adventurous music by the beach" at the 14th annual Carlsbad Music Festival.

This three-day event features more than 60 performances of creative music of all kinds curated by Founder and Artistic Director, composer/violinist Matt McBane. The styles range from contemporary classical and indie rock to world music and jazz.

There will be free outdoor concerts throughout the weekend, as well as ticketed concerts featuring Dollshot, Eric Byers, Julia Holter, Xiu Xiu Plays the Music of Twin Peaks and more.

Along with the music, visitors will also find a beer garden, food trucks and artisan market on Saturday and Sunday.

2:00 PM Art Exhibit with Painter Lei Tang Join us on Sunday, August 27 at La Plaza La Jolla in suite 109 where Monarch | Arredon Contemporary will exhibit several featured artists with a special appearance by artist Lei Tang. During this event, Lei Tang will discuss his latest figurative abstract paintings on display.

Lei Tang was trained and mentored by Wu Guanzhong (吳冠中, 1919-2010) one of the best-known contemporary painters of Chinese origin and is widely considered to be the founder of modern Chinese painting.

Well recognized for his museum and gallery exhibitions in Beijing China, Tang continues his work as a full-time artist living and working in San Diego, California.
