11:00 AM Fiesta Del Sol Fiesta del Sol is a two-day street festival celebrating the history, diverse cultures, and civic engagement of the people of San Diego.

The largest community-driven family festival in San Diego County, the annual Fiesta del Sol is a two-day street festival celebrating the history, diverse cultures, and civic engagement of the people of San Diego. It's a fun, family-friendly, alcohol- and tobacco-free event focused on creating positive change by empowering communities. Fiesta del Sol includes an entertainment stage, a multi-cultural food court, four community pavilions, and over one hundred booths sponsored by local small businesses, non-profit organizations, and corporate partners. There is no cost for admission and the focus is on family fun.

Stephen Morse is the creator of the One-Step Website for which he has received both the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Outstanding Contribution Award from the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies, Award of Merit from the National Genealogical Society, first-ever Excellence Award from the Association of Professional Genealogists, and two awards he cannot pronounce from Polish genealogical societies.

1:00 PM Film: Knowledge is the Beginning The story of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, where young Arabs and Jews perform and live side by side. It is a film about what music can do - the way it can transcend cultural barriers, bring people together, defeat prejudice and overcome religious and political differences. This orchestra overcame the impossible to play in Palestine and the live concert from Ramallah attracted worldwide attention far beyond the musical community.

2:00 PM Music: Taiko Jam 2017 Taiko Jam is the keynote concert for the biennial North American Taiko Conference. This year's concert will be held in San Diego, CA at UCSD's Mandeville Auditorium. 2:00 PM Oceanside International Film Festival The seventh-annual Oceanside International Film Festival is an opportunity for independent filmmakers local and abroad to screen their work in a Southern California locale. Over the course of eight days OIFF 2017 will host over 70 films, some of which have international settings or subjects. The majority of the films are shorts.

Opening and closing events are at the Star Theatre; all other days at Sunshine Brooks Theatre.

At the end of each semester, the participants present a public recital showcasing the repertoire learned during the sessions.
