10:00 AM Japanese Steel The history of Japanese car manufacturing is rich with practicality, innovation, and exuberance. Like all auto development, the initial goal was simple transportation. This then blossomed into innovation and performance.

To put a spotlight on the variety of Japanese automotive expertise, the San Diego Automotive Museum has gathered a unique collection of Japanese classic cars, many of which were not originally sold in the United States.

10:00 AM Latin American Festival Three days of folk art, food, and entertainment at the annual Latin American Festival and Mata Ortiz Pottery Market. The colorful marketplace will feature hand-painted Mata Ortiz pottery, artisan jewelry, Mexican clothing and textiles, and other collectibles. Artists from Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, Ecuador, and other Latin American countries will showcase one of the most extensive collections of genuine Latin American folk art this side of the border.

The festival also exhibits San Diego's largest collection of authentic Mata Ortiz pottery, a centuries-old art form renowned for its intricate process and hand-painted geometric and ancestral symbols. Visitors can enjoy wood carving, textile weaving, and intricate painting demonstrations from visiting artists highlighting their crafts. Mexican cuisine from neighboring Casa Guadalajara restaurant will be for sale. Latin American folk band Tinku performs.

2:00 PM Oceanside International Film Festival The seventh-annual Oceanside International Film Festival is an opportunity for independent filmmakers local and abroad to screen their work in a Southern California locale. Over the course of eight days OIFF 2017 will host over 70 films, some of which have international settings or subjects. The majority of the films are shorts.

Opening and closing events are at the Star Theatre; all other days at Sunshine Brooks Theatre.

Admission/Cost: $15 single day pass. A variety of discounted festival passes available.

2:00 PM House of Italy Lawn Program The House of Italy at Balboa Park is hosting its yearly lawn program. The entertainment for this event features singers and dancers who will create a musical show that makes you feel that are on a visit to Italy. The food you can enjoy for the Lawn Program as well as the Ethnic Food Fair and the December Holidays are a typical Italian fare: Pasta and sausage, pizza, canoles, tiramisu, Italian sodas, cappuccino and espresso.
