All Day San Diego County Fair The San Diego County Fair offers all of the deep-fried foods-on-a-stick, rides, animals and games you've experienced at other state and county fairs, but this fair is also known for world-class exhibits in fine art, photography, woodworking, jewelry/gems and minerals, home and hobby, and the Paul Ecke Jr. Flower & Garden Show...not to mention an unsurpassed view of the Pacific Ocean from the Ferris Wheel! The Toyota Summer Concert Series at the San Diego County Fair features nationally recognized entertainment every night; the entertainment lineup is usually announced in late March. With an additional eight stages located throughout the grounds, you're sure to find a band, dance troupe, DJ or comedian to suit your fancy!

This year's fair features numerous Latino performing artists and groups.

Admission/Cost: Free - $19 per day. Many discount packages and ticket deals can be found.

10:00 AM Discussion: Afrofuturism Riding the wave of Marvel Studio's groundbreaking blockbuster, Black Panther, the creators Dr. Firyali Richmond, Keithan Jones of KID Comics, and the Malcolm X Library Black Comix Day, the WorldBeat Center, QABPROSERV.COM, The Broker's Building Gallery brings an exclusive AfroFuturist programming block for the upcoming summer seasons. This summer, we will present AfroFuturism: #DreamTank2018. With an assembly of Pan-African visionaries, we'll orchestrate a brainstorm of where we see ourselves in the near and distant futures. Exploring technology, sociology, design and art, we'll compile a series of presentations in an effort to realize an Afrotopia that will enrich ourselves with beauty, prosperity and hope in the world.

This year's theme is Mixed Plate, since we are proud to have such a culturally diverse membership and history at our temple. This year, through our food, we'd like to share our culture and knowledge with you. Since 1926 our temple has been a cultural and spiritual resource to the San Diego community, and it's through our annual fundraising events that allows us to continue to do so. 2:00 PM Music: Ireland Sendoff Tour Concert The "2018 Ireland Tour Sendoff Concert" features selections that will be performed during the Peninsula Singers' June 2018 Concert Tour of Ireland.

Songs from Broadway like "Over the Rainbow," "Edelweiss" and "You'll Never Walk Alone/Climb Ev'ry Mountain," will join many songs with American roots and others with international origins. Peninsula Singers will also perform a Pentatonix song and a fun rendition of "Africa" by Toto.

Peninsula Singers is a Community Choir based in Point Loma under the direction of Sarah Suhonen and accompanied by Stewart Simon on piano. The choir has performed at many venues throughout our community including U.S.S. Midway, the Point Loma Village Cultural Faire, Southwestern Yacht Club, Point Loma High School, several local libraries and December Nights in Balboa Park. They have also performed at Carnegie Hall and the European cities of Prague, Salzburg, Vienna and Munich.

With hummable songs like "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" and "The Internet is for Porn," this show promises off-color laughs and outrageous moments, but it has also warmed audiences' hearts with its lovable and unique cast of characters.

Note: Avenue Q might be inappropriate for young audiences due to mature themes and language.

Soprano soloist Caroline Nelms and guest speaker Jane Fanshawe will share vibrant sounds and insight through the collected photographs and recorded music of composer David Fanshawe. Reception to follow.
