3:00 PM Art Exhibition: Kulvinder Kaur Dhew & Bruce Dehnert Kulvinder Kaur Dhew and Bruce Dehnert come together to exhibit at the James Alan Rose Gallery. Dhew, whose paintings, drawings and digital prints have been included in collections as assorted as Kazuo Ishiguru and MTV Europe and Dehnert, an esteemed potter and sculptor, are artists whose work can often reference similar themes using very different media. In this exhibition, Dhew's drawings are a sustained exploration of charcoal on paper and depict elemental climatic events. Dehnert presents a body of wood-fired ceramics that portray a decorative approach and the use of a kiln to provide a surface that presents the process through which the work has passed.

4:00 PM 24th Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival Media Arts Center San Diego presents the 24th annual San Diego Latino Film Festival. The festival will occupy five screens for eleven days and will present over 160 films from Latin America, the United States, and Spain as well as Opening Night and Closing Night Parties, the 2nd Annual Sonido Latino Beer & Wine Festival, Q&A sessions with visiting filmmakers, and free student outreach screenings. Audiences will have the rare opportunity to meet filmmakers and actors from all over the world.

7:00 PM World Baseball Classic The World Baseball Classic is the premier international baseball tournament, sanctioned by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), and operated as a joint venture between Major League Baseball and its Players Association. The Tournament features the best players in the world competing for their home countries and territories.

More than 2.4 million fans from all over the world have attended the tournament games, held in March 2006, March 2009 and March 2013. Team Dominican Republic is the reigning World Baseball Classic Champion after going undefeated during its 2013 championship run. This year's tournament will again feature the greatest baseball-playing nations in the world. The tournament will be held every four years thereafter.

Following a qualifying round held in Feb., March and Sept. of 2016, the 16-team field is now set for the main event from March 6-22, 2017. The games will span the globe, taking place across six venues, beginning with Seoul, Tokyo, Miami and Jalisco in the First Round. During the Second Round, teams will head to Tokyo and San Diego on the way to the Championship Round in Los Angeles.

8:00 PM Music: Julieta Venegas Julieta Venegas is a multi-Grammy Award winning Mexican singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentlist and producer. She was born and raised in Tijuana, Baja California with her identical twin and four other siblings. Venegas began studying classical piano at the age of 8, also studying music theory, voice and cello at La Escuela de Música del Noroeste and across the U.S. border at South Western College in San Diego. She was a former member of the band "Tijuana No". Julieta plays numerous instruments including acoustic guitar, accordion and keyboard. She won the 2004 Latin Grammy for Best Vocal Rock Album ("Sí").
