Join the Barona Cultural Center & Museum for Native American Month and experience “Peyii ‘Enyeway ‘Esekáayches We are Still Here.” The exhibit is a timeline showing the evolution of the Barona people at the hands of the newcomers to its land—genocide, repeated attempts of assimilation, relocation, and more.

It is a moving and powerful visual representation of Barona’s existence and how the Tribe has not only survived, but also thrived, despite a difficult past and is a testament to the Tribe’s strength and resilience. Come explore this real history from a perspective that is not taught in school. Learn how the Tribe upholds the traditional values and philosophies that have kept the people strong and how the Barona children are learning to walk in two worlds as their ancestors did.
