Art Exhibition: José Guadalupe Posada

California Center for the Arts, 340 N. Escondido Blvd. , Escondido

Visual Arts

This exhibition features artworks from one of Mexico’s most celebrated artists, José Guadalupe Posada. Posada’s satirical skeletons (calaveras) are instantly recognizable. His artwork lampooned politicians, recorded images from the Mexican Revolution, and inspired artists to use their art for social causes. Posada’s iconic imagery also adorned concert tickets for the Grateful Dead and his calaveras are emblematic of Día de los Muertos imagery. Special thanks to Landau Traveling Exhibitions, the Catalina Island Museum, and the Posada Art Foundation. Please note: Tickets can be purchased 24 hours a day from our website.
